Bemidji Woman Charged After Knife Threat Report
Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji woman faces a felony charge after an alleged knife threat near the city library.
Shayron Jaicoby White, 24, was charged in Beltrami County District Court with threats of violence.
The charge involves reckless disregard for the risk of causing terror in another person.
The alleged incident happened shortly after midnight on July 9, 2026.
Witnesses Reported Knife Threat
According to the criminal complaint, police received a report of a woman screaming near the Bemidji Public Library.
The caller said a woman displayed a knife and threatened to stab her.
The woman then reportedly ran north from the area.
Police were given a description of a woman wearing a black top and tan pants.
The woman was also reported to be carrying a backpack.
Officers later found White behind a church on America Avenue.
White initially denied that anything had happened, according to the complaint.
She later said she had found a knife but had left it somewhere.

Suspect Denied Making Threat
White told police she had argued with people outside the library area.
She said the argument began while she was crying near the Wolfe Center.
White claimed the other people told her to be quiet.
She said she told them to stay away from her.
White also claimed someone threatened to spray her with mace.
She denied saying that she would stab anyone.
However, two witnesses gave a different account to investigators.
They said they approached White after hearing her scream.
The witnesses told police they saw White holding a long knife.
They also alleged that White threatened to stab them.
The complaint states that White later admitted a knife was inside her backpack.
Officers then located the knife, according to court records.
Felony Charge Filed
White is charged under Minnesota Statute 609.713.
A conviction may carry up to five years in prison.
The charge also allows a fine of up to $10,000.
Court records list the case as Beltrami County Court File 04-CR-26-1579.
The complaint also notes two convictions entered on July 1, 2026.
Those convictions involved disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process.
A criminal charge is only an accusation.
White is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
