Winger Man Charged Over Bar Threat Messages
WINGER, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Winger man faces two criminal charges after allegedly sending threatening messages to a local bar.
Daniel Ray Kaster, 52, is charged in Polk County District Court. The charges include felony threats of violence and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault.
The accusations come from an incident reported on February 12, 2026. The case remains pending in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
Messages Allegedly Sent After Bar Visit
According to the criminal complaint, Kaster visited Liquor Pigs in Winger that evening. He later left the business.
About four minutes later, messages allegedly appeared on the bar’s Facebook page. The bar’s owner manages that account.
The complaint says the messages focused on political disagreements. Some messages allegedly included violent language and a request for a gun.
Kaster also allegedly mentioned a revolution. He reportedly wrote that Liquor Pigs was first on his list.
The owner contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. She requested that Kaster be banned from the business.
Complaint Describes Police Interview
Authorities later contacted Kaster at his Winger apartment. The complaint says he admitted the messages were extreme.
He also allegedly admitted that he crossed a line. Investigators said he understood why others felt frightened.
Kaster was informed that he could no longer enter Liquor Pigs.
Another person told investigators that Kaster had sent a separate text message. That message allegedly discussed killing racists.
The person also reported receiving a message mentioning crosshairs. Prosecutors claim the statements caused fear at the bar.
Charges and Possible Penalties
The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. It also carries a possible $10,000 fine.
