Underwood DWI Case Alleges .19 Alcohol Level

Underwood (trfnews.i234.me) — A Coon Rapids man faces two gross misdemeanor DWI charges in Otter Tail County.

Logan Nathaniel Jurek, 25, is charged with two counts of second-degree driving while impaired.

The charges include driving under the influence of alcohol. They also include having an alcohol level above the legal limit.

The allegations are contained in a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District Court.

Dangerous Driving Reports

The reported incident happened during the afternoon of June 18, 2026.

A witness reported seeing a white SUV traveling west on Highway 210 near Underwood.

The SUV allegedly entered another traffic lane and nearly struck an approaching vehicle.

Dispatchers soon received another complaint involving a vehicle with a similar description.

That caller reported the SUV crossed into oncoming traffic and nearly caused several crashes.

The driver later turned north onto 265th Avenue, according to the complaint.

Authorities located a white hatchback SUV stopped in the roadway.

The vehicle was running, while a passenger door and the rear hatch were open.

Jurek was found near the passenger side and admitted driving the vehicle, the complaint states.

The complaint alleges Jurek smelled strongly of alcohol.

It also describes slurred speech, poor balance, and bloodshot, watery eyes.

Jurek allegedly said he consumed several alcoholic drinks while at work.

He reportedly refused roadside balance tests and a preliminary breath test.

Jurek was arrested and taken to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility.

After speaking with an attorney, he agreed to an evidentiary breath test.

The test allegedly showed an alcohol concentration of .19 at about 5:53 p.m.

Minnesota’s standard driving limit is .08 for most adult drivers.

The complaint lists a previous DWI conviction from 2023 as an aggravating factor.

Each current charge carries up to 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine.

Charges are allegations. Jurek is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
