You should look into Big Turtle Lake, North of Bemidji. Al Capone built a cabin there in the 30's. When excavation of a new home back in the 80's, they found underground tunnels all over the place.
Crookston is aptly named. Wonder if the guy were ever caught & weapons found? Would LOVE to see the police reports on this!
