Thief River Falls Man Faces Burglary Charges

THIEF RIVER FALLS (trfnews.i234.me) — A local man faces two felony charges after an alleged assault inside a camper.

Jacob Ryan Lasin Brummitt is charged in Pennington County District Court.

The charges include first-degree burglary and aiding third-degree assault.

The case stems from an incident reported on June 14, 2026.

Prosecutors allege Brummitt entered an occupied camper without permission. They claim an assault then occurred inside.

The burglary charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. It also carries a possible $35,000 fine.

The assault charge carries up to five years in prison. It also carries a possible $10,000 fine.

Group Arrived at Camper

According to the complaint, several people were gathered at a camper in rural Pennington County.

Witnesses said several vehicles later arrived at the property. People inside those vehicles reportedly began yelling and making threats.

A juvenile victim, identified as U.F., went inside the camper and closed the door.

The complaint says a juvenile girl entered first and began striking U.F.

Witnesses claimed Justin Jourdain and Brummitt also entered the camper. They allegedly joined the assault.

U.F. said several people punched and kicked him. He later escaped and went to another home.

Authorities reported bruising and swelling below the victim’s left eye.

The complaint says a doctor confirmed the victim suffered a concussion the following day.

Larenz Cloud told investigators she arrived with Gage Allen, Brummitt, and Jourdain.

Cloud said she believed the group was going to a bonfire.

She reported seeing the juvenile girl enter the camper. She then saw Jourdain and Brummitt follow her inside.

Allen said Brummitt and Jourdain entered the camper during the confrontation. He said the camper then began shaking.

Francisco Valverde also placed Brummitt inside the camper, according to the complaint.

Jourdain denied entering the camper. He said Brummitt came only as backup during a planned fight.

Authorities requested a warrant after they were unable to locate Brummitt.

The charges are allegations. Brummitt is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
