Thief River Falls Man Charged in Registration Case

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Thief River Falls man faces a felony charge for allegedly missing a required registration check-in.

Lane Allen Anderson, 29, is charged in Pennington County District Court. The charge involves Minnesota’s predatory offender registration law.

The case was filed as court file 57-CR-26-453. A criminal complaint includes allegations that prosecutors must prove in court.

Registration Update Reported

According to the complaint, Anderson visited the Law Enforcement Center on June 3, 2026.

He reportedly changed his registered address status to homeless in Thief River Falls. Anderson also reported that he no longer worked for Northern Pride.

Law enforcement advised Anderson that he must check in each week while registered as homeless.

Anderson allegedly said he would return on Wednesday, June 10. The complaint states he had not returned by June 12.

Felony Charge Filed

Prosecutors allege Anderson knowingly failed to meet a registration requirement on or about June 15.

The alleged offense occurred within Pennington County, according to the complaint.

The charge falls under Minnesota Statute 243.166.

A conviction may carry between two and five years in prison. Any sentence would depend on state law and a judge’s ruling.

The complaint also lists several earlier convictions involving Anderson.

Those cases include drug possession, impaired driving, card fraud, and theft by swindle.
