The man, who had been intoxicated, jumped into the lake near the Sauk River Dam early Sunday morning and started having difficulties. Traditional search methods from the shore were unsuccessful, prompting officers to deploy a drone equipped with an infrared imaging camera. This technology enabled them to spot the man several hundred feet from the shore. He was successfully rescued and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he was later released.
