Park River Woman Faces Felonies After Arrest

PARK RIVER, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Park River woman faces several charges after an alleged weekend assault.

Andrea Lynn Sluke, 44, was arrested around 2:50 a.m. Monday, according to Walsh County court documents.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Briggs Avenue South at about 1:27 a.m. Sunday, June 21.

The call involved a reported physical fight between a man and a woman.

Court Complaint Details Alleged Assault

The complaint says Sluke punched a man in the face near his right cheekbone.

Authorities say she then took a pocket knife that belonged to the man.

The man told deputies he feared for his life during the confrontation.

He pushed Sluke against a vehicle and later threw her to the ground, the complaint states.

Sluke then called 911 to report the incident.

A second person reportedly hid inside a nearby garage during the confrontation.

The complaint says Sluke threatened to kill that person and then herself.

Struggle Reported During Hospital Arrest

Deputies later went to a hospital to arrest Sluke.

The complaint says Sluke kicked one deputy while officers placed her in handcuffs.

Authorities say she also kicked a second deputy during the arrest.

Sluke then slipped one hand from the handcuffs, according to the complaint.

She allegedly struck both deputies before officers brought the situation under control.

Charges Filed in Walsh County

Sluke faces felony charges of terrorizing and assaulting a peace officer.

She also faces a felony charge of preventing arrest.

A misdemeanor simple assault charge was filed in Walsh County District Court.

Her initial court appearance is scheduled for June 29.

North Dakota lists terrorizing and assault offenses under Chapter 12.1-17.

The state addresses preventing arrest under Chapter 12.1-08.

The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.

Sluke is presumed innocent unless she is found guilty through the court process.
