Ada DWI Stop: Driver Accused At 103 MPH

Norman County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Texas man is facing several charges after a traffic stop near Ada, Minnesota.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Norman County District Court, Angel Gerardo Flores Gomez was charged after a May 24, 2026, stop on Highway 200.

The complaint says Flores Gomez was driving 103 mph in a posted 60 mph zone. The filing says the stop happened near Ada in Norman County.

Complaint Alleges High-Speed Driving

Authorities were responding to a driving complaint involving a vehicle heading west toward Ada.

A state trooper later met the vehicle on Highway 200. The trooper reported clocking the vehicle at 103 mph.

The complaint says the vehicle was stopped near Ada. The driver was identified as Angel Gerardo Flores Gomez.

Court documents say Flores Gomez is from Fort Worth, Texas. He allegedly told authorities he was traveling to Texas.

Investigators reported signs of alcohol use during the stop. The complaint says there was a strong odor of alcohol.

The filing also says Flores Gomez had bloodshot and watery eyes.

Breath Test Reported In Court Filing

According to the complaint, Flores Gomez admitted to drinking before the traffic stop.

The complaint says he admitted to drinking about 15 beers.

A preliminary breath test showed a result of 0.176, according to court documents.

Authorities later used translation services at the sheriff’s office. The complaint says a breath test advisory was given through a translator.

Flores Gomez was given more than 20 minutes to contact an attorney, according to the filing.

A later breath test was completed at 11:56 p.m. The complaint says that the test showed a result of 0.12.

Charges Filed In Norman County

Flores Gomez is charged with fourth-degree DWI. That charge is listed as a misdemeanor under Minnesota Statute 169A.20 and Minnesota Statute 169A.27.

He is also charged with careless driving. That charge is tied to claims of unsafe driving on a public road.

The complaint also lists driving without a valid license. It says Flores Gomez did not have a driver’s license.

A speeding charge was also filed. The complaint says Flores Gomez drove 43 mph over the posted limit.
