Thief River Falls – Eric Joseph Hume passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in Grand Forks, ND.
Eric Joseph Hume was born on April 10, 1965, in Thief River Falls, the son of Hilding and Judy Hume. He was raised in East Grand Forks where he graduated from High School.
He joined the US Air Force and served for 3 ½ years.
He worked for Convey Health Solutions in Florida for many years. Eric returned to the Thief River Falls area where he was employed at DigiKey for six years, retiring due to ill health.
Eric enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Sam Hume and Evan Hume; stepsister, Jamie Melnie; aunt, Betty Mjoen; and uncle, William Hume.
Eric is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Melnie; stepfather, Jim Melnie; father, Hilding Forest Hume; grandparents, Robert and Deloris Thompson and George and Elma Bucklen.
Military Graveside Honors will be held at
11 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
