Mahnomen (trfnews.i234.me) — Randy Lee Hanks, 56, of Mahnomen, is facing four charges in Mahnomen County District Court.
The case includes three felony counts of threats of violence.
Hanks is also charged with fourth-degree assault of a peace officer.
Court records list the case as 44-CR-26-219.
The alleged incidents happened between March 30 and April 10, 2026.
Each threat charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
Each also carries a possible $10,000 fine.
The assault charge carries up to 364 days in jail.
It also carries a possible $3,000 fine.
Complaint Cites Facebook Posts
According to the complaint, investigators were contacted about alleged threats in Mahnomen.
The complaint says the threats were directed toward a White Earth police school resource officer.
Another alleged threat was directed toward White Earth Secretary Treasurer Michael Joseph Laroque.
Authorities said both people were aware of the alleged threats.
Investigators obtained screenshots of Facebook posts allegedly made by Hanks.
The posts allegedly included threats to assault the school resource officer.
Other posts allegedly included threats toward Laroque.

Warrant Requested Over Safety Concerns
The complaint says another Facebook post was reviewed on April 10.
That post allegedly included more threatening language toward the school resource officer.
Court records state that photos were attached to several posts.
Those photos allegedly showed the officer’s Facebook page and uniform image.
The State requested a warrant in the case.
Prosecutors cited public safety concerns as the reason.
The complaint also lists a gross misdemeanor assault charge.
That count alleges Hanks physically assaulted a peace officer on April 3, 2026.

Hanks is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
