Callaway (trfnews.i234.me) — Donna Jean Knutson, 35, of rural Callaway, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court.
Knutson was sentenced on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing the legal process.
A felony charge of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle was dropped under a plea agreement.
According to court records, the case began on July 26, 2025.
A White Earth police officer was sent to a Callaway residence.
The call involved reported disorderly behavior at a family gathering.
Disturbance Reported At Family Gathering
When the officer arrived, he spoke with a man at the residence.
The man said Knutson had been causing problems.
He also said Knutson had been asked to leave the property.
Court records say Knutson and her boyfriend were on the west side of the yard.
Her boyfriend was related to the man who first spoke with the officer.
As the officer walked toward them, Knutson was sitting in a red pickup.
The complaint says she began driving toward the officer.
The officer stepped aside to avoid being struck by the pickup.

Officer Ordered Pickup To Stop
The driver’s side window was down, according to court records.
The officer told Knutson to stop the vehicle.
Court records say Knutson looked at the officer and said, “no.”
She then drove past the officer through the yard.
As the officer returned to his squad car, the boyfriend began yelling.
He also chased after the officer, according to the complaint.
The officer gave several commands for the boyfriend to back up and stop.
Court records say the boyfriend kept following the officer and yelling.
Second Arrest Reported At Scene
Family members tried to get the boyfriend to stop.
He then allegedly screamed and swore at three family members.
As the officer walked back, he heard a man say, “back up.”
The officer turned and saw the boyfriend approach the man with closed fists.
Another family member stepped between them.
The officer then drew a Taser and ordered the boyfriend to back up.
The boyfriend eventually complied and walked away.
The officer then told him to stop because he was under arrest.
Court records say the boyfriend refused at first.
He later stopped after the officer again drew the Taser.
He was arrested without further incident.
