Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji man is facing three felony drug charges after a traffic stop near a school, according to a criminal complaint filed in Beltrami County.
Charges Filed In Beltrami County
Jackson Bradley Brusewitz, 25, of Bemidji, was charged after the March 19, 2026, stop. The complaint lists one second-degree drug charge and two third-degree drug charges.
Prosecutors allege Brusewitz possessed about 6 grams of suspected fentanyl. They also allege he possessed about 2.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
One charge is tied to fentanyl possession of 6 grams or more. Another charge is tied to possession of 5 grams or more of fentanyl. A third charge alleges meth possession in a school zone.
The charges were filed under Minnesota drug laws, including Minn. Stat. 152.022 and Minn. Stat. 152.023.

What The Complaint Says Happened
According to the complaint, the stop happened at about 10:21 a.m. near Bemidji Avenue and 8th Street. The vehicle was being driven by Crystal Cloud. Brusewitz was the front seat passenger.
Investigators asked the people inside to get out of the vehicle. During a pat-down, Brusewitz allegedly reached toward his waistband more than once. The complaint says he appeared nervous and was trembling.
Officers then placed him in handcuffs for safety. The complaint says Brusewitz told officers, “I have a piece.” Officers first believed that meant he had a gun.
The complaint says he later stated he meant a glass pipe. Investigators then found a glass smoking pipe and a plastic baggie in his pocket.
Inside that baggie, investigators reported finding two foil bindles and two small clear baggies. The complaint says field tests pointed to suspected methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl.
School Zone Allegation
Investigators later determined the stop took place within 150 feet of a school. The complaint says school was in session at the time.
Under Minnesota law, that location falls inside a school zone. That claim is the basis for the meth-related school zone charge.
Prior Case Also Mentioned
The complaint also states Brusewitz was already on release conditions in a separate pending felony fifth-degree drug case. Court records cited in the complaint list that case as 04-CR-26-273.
Beltrami County criminal cases are handled through the Beltrami County District Court in Bemidji.
All charges in the complaint are allegations. Brusewitz is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
