Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — A Thief River Falls man was arrested after an assault report early on March 11, according to a citation.

Tyrus Mathew Olson, 28, of Thief River Falls, was cited for disorderly conduct. He was later arrested after police responded to 823 Duluth Ave. N.

Early Morning Call

Police received the report at 4:28 a.m. on March 11. The citation said Olson told officers that his stepmother struck him several times in the head.

The woman gave a different account. She told police Olson had been “messing around” with her guitar at about 10 p.m. She said he would not leave her bedroom when asked.

According to the citation, Olson later left the room. The woman then locked her bedroom door. She said Olson kept banging on the door after that.

She told police she recorded the noise. She also said Olson sent her many text messages. She said the messages became so upsetting that she blocked his phone number.

What The Citation Says

The citation said the woman believed Olson later used a card to get into her bedroom. She said that scared her. She then hit him about four times in the head.

When police asked about drinking, she said she had consumed four shots of alcohol. She also said Olson had been drinking throughout the day.

The citation described the woman as very emotional while speaking with law enforcement.

The case remains an allegation at this stage. A charge is not a conviction. Formal court records can be checked through Minnesota Court Records Online.
