Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji woman is facing two charges after a late-night traffic stop in Beltrami County, according to a criminal complaint filed in District Court.
Traffic Stop in Bemidji
Prosecutors allege Rasharon Kaye King, 18, was stopped at about 11:50 p.m. on March 7, 2026. The stop happened near Paul Bunyan Drive NW and Delton Avenue NW in Bemidji.
The complaint says the vehicle had a loud exhaust. The car then stopped in the parking lot of 1171 Paul Bunyan Drive NW.
According to the complaint, King showed signs of impairment during the stop. Investigators reported glassy eyes, constant fidgeting, and pupils with little reaction to light.
What the Complaint Alleges
Court records say King did not successfully complete the field sobriety tests that were given. One test was not done because of strong winds.
The complaint says King admitted using fentanyl the night before. It also says she later admitted to methamphetamine use at the hospital.
Investigators then obtained a search warrant for a blood or urine sample. The complaint says King agreed to provide a blood sample.
The main charge alleges King drove with a Schedule I or II drug, or its metabolite, in her body. That charge is listed as a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota law.
The second charge alleges King drove after her license had been revoked. That count is listed as a misdemeanor.
Prior Revocation Cited
The complaint says King’s driving privileges were revoked on Nov. 15, 2025. Prosecutors allege that revocation was still active on the date of this stop.
The filing also points to an earlier Beltrami County impaired driving case as part of the background in this matter.
Case Status
These charges are allegations only. King has not been convicted in this case. The matter was filed in Beltrami County District Court under case number 04-CR-26-589.
