VALLEY CITY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Valley City man faces felony charges after an apartment call.
Police say the case includes felony terrorizing and a drug allegation.
The call came in early Saturday morning.
Police say they were sent to an apartment building in the 1000 block of Fifth Street Southeast.
The call came in around 5:28 a.m., according to a police report.
Officers arrested Eugene Weston Smith, 33, of Valley City.
What witnesses told police
Three people inside the apartment spoke with officers, police said.
They reported that Smith showed a gun during the dispute.
They said he pointed it at one of the women.
The woman told police that Smith pulled the gun from behind his back.
She said he cocked it and aimed it at her.
Police say the woman told them she is pregnant.
She said she feared for her life.
Two other witnesses backed up her account, police said.
Officers say they found a 9mm cartridge near the apartment doorway.
Police later contacted Smith in a rear parking lot, the report says.

Gun and ammo found
Smith denied having a gun, according to the report.
Police say Smith claimed witnesses mistook a radio frequency meter for a gun.
Officers say he stayed in his vehicle for about 15 minutes.
Police say Smith called 911 to confirm the officers were real.
Officers reported seeing a black handgun on the back seat.
They then removed Smith from the vehicle, police said.
Officers also found a loaded magazine in his pants pocket.
Police say the ammunition matched the cartridge found outside.
Officers recovered a Smith & Wesson SD9 VE 9mm handgun.
Police say the victim identified the gun as the one used in the threat.
Smith was taken to the Barnes County Correctional Center.
Police say jail staff found a small bag with a white crystal substance.
Booking and court
Police say a field test showed the substance was methamphetamine.
Police also cited a prior domestic violence conviction in Smith’s history.
Officers requested a prohibited-person gun charge, police said.
Court records reviewed by TRF News say that the gun charge was dismissed.
Smith’s next appearance is set for Feb. 26 at 1 p.m.
The hearing is listed as a preliminary hearing and or arraignment.
It is scheduled in Barnes County District Court before Judge Nicholas Thornton.
