Waubun, Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 19-year-old Ponsford woman is charged after an early-morning assault.
Court records say Kaylee Lynn Warren is accused of attacking her cousin inside a Waubun home.
Police were called at 2:51 a.m. on February 17, 2026, the complaint says.
A family member told dispatch the victim had been “jumped” in her room.
What the police say happened
Officers found the victim with heavy swelling around her right eye.
They also saw blood on the right side of her face.
The victim could not open that eye, police wrote.
Officers also noted cuts on her lip, hand, and arm.
The victim told officers that Warren came over with a friend.
She said Warren was intoxicated.
An argument started about the victim’s child’s father, the complaint says.
The victim asked both visitors to leave, the complaint says.
The complaint says Warren and the other person began punching the victim.
After the victim fell, the pair stomped the back of her head, police wrote.
The victim said they threatened to break her things.
She also said they threatened to take her car keys.
She told officers she feared more stomping if she moved.

Arrest and alcohol test
Police later found Warren in a vehicle on a nearby driveway, the complaint says.
An officer approached to investigate, police wrote.
The complaint says Warren yelled and acted aggressively.
As the officer moved in, Warren swung her right arm, police allege.
The officer was hit on the left side of the face, the complaint says.
Warren was taken to the ground and handcuffed.
In custody, Warren admitted drinking alcohol, police wrote.
A preliminary breath test showed .235, according to the complaint.
Minnesota law refers to this as a screening test.
Charges and court
Prosecutors filed two felony counts.
- Third-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm. See Minn. Stat. § 609.223.
- Threats of violence. See Minn. Stat. § 609.713.
The complaint also lists several other charges.
- Assault on a peace officer. See Minn. Stat. § 609.2231.
- Domestic assault. See Minn. Stat. § 609.2242.
- Underage alcohol consumption. See Minn. Stat. § 340A.503.
Bail was set at $2,500 cash with conditions.
Judge Seamus Patrick Duffy issued the order, court records show.
Warren is due back in court on a future date.
The case is filed in Mahnomen County District Court.
