Bemidji, Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) ā A Bemidji man is facing felony charges after a reported stabbing.
Joshua John Beaulieu of Bemidji is charged with three felonies, court records show. Police responded to the 2500 block of Itasa Loop in Bemidji on January 31.
The criminal complaint says the reported assault happened on January 29. The woman told police that Beaulieu stayed at the home at times.
What court records allege
The woman said she was asleep when Beaulieu woke her. She said he tried to touch her sexually. She said she refused.
According to the complaint, Beaulieu became angry. The woman said he hit her five times in the head.
She also said he held a knife to her throat. She said he stabbed her in the neck.

Injuries
Police wrote that the woman had a large cut on her forehead. They also reported a cut on her neck.
Court records say the woman received eight stitches for the forehead cut. Police noted visible injuries at the scene.
Charges
Prosecutors charged Beaulieu with two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. He also faces a felony failure to appear count from another case.
Second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon is covered under Minnesota Statute 609.222. The statute lists a maximum prison term of seven years for some cases.
Charges are allegations. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
