Stutsman County (trfnews.i234.me) – A 45-year-old Eldridge, North Dakota, man was arrested after a police pursuit that began in Jamestown and ended at a farmyard north of Eldridge on Friday evening, November 21, 2025. The man has been identified as Keith Meidinger.
Pursuit Begins in Jamestown
The incident started around 6:08 p.m. A caller reported a possibly intoxicated driver who was swerving on 4th Avenue Northwest. Jamestown police found the vehicle a short time later. An officer attempted a traffic stop in the 500 block of 10th Avenue Southeast to check the driver for impairment.
Police say Meidinger refused to exit his 2008 Volvo SUV. He then drove away from the traffic stop. Officers followed as the vehicle went through several areas of Jamestown. The driver continued to flee, heading toward Stutsman County Road 40.
Speeds reach 50 to 60 mph
The pursuit continued westbound out of Jamestown city limits. Speeds during the chase were between 50 and 60 mph. Police stayed behind the vehicle as it traveled away from town and into rural parts of the county.
Pursuit Ends at Rural Farmyard
The chase ended several miles north of Eldridge. Meidinger pulled into a farmyard that did not belong to him. The people who lived there did not know him. Officers approached the vehicle and took Meidinger into custody without further issues.
Charges and Investigation
Meidinger was arrested on suspicion of several charges. These include:
- DUI (driving under the influence)
- Reckless driving
- Fleeing a peace officer
- Possessing an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle
He was taken to Stutsman County Corrections. Police say the investigation is ongoing. More charges may be added as the case continues.
