Traill County (trfnews.i234.me) – Fire Rekindles at O’Brien Seed Company in Mayville
Firefighters were called back to Mayville early Wednesday morning after a weekend fire at the O’Brien Seed Company flared up again. The fire destroyed the grain elevator on Saturday.
Crews returned to the site just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday. Dispatch audio reported flames were visible again at the location of the destroyed elevator.
Fire departments from Mayville, Portland, and Buxton responded. Firefighters worked to put out remaining hot spots and prevent the fire from spreading. Crews stayed on scene for an extended time to monitor the structure and check for more flare-ups.
The building had been heavily damaged on Saturday. Firefighters spent much of the weekend controlling the large blaze. The cause of the original fire has not been released.
No injuries were reported during the early Wednesday response.
