Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – Surveillance video from a Bemidji liquor store shows a man stealing alcohol and running to a waiting getaway car. The incident happened on Tuesday at Horizon Warehouse Liquor Store, and employees reported the theft to authorities right away.

According to staff at the store, the man entered the business and took alcohol without paying. Video from the store shows him leaving quickly and getting into a vehicle that was waiting outside. Employees said the group in the car sped away after the theft.

Deputies Locate Suspects Within Minutes

Store workers said the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after they reported the theft. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle involved and stop it about 10 minutes after the suspects left the store.

Employees told TRF News the individuals in the vehicle were cited for the theft. Deputies recovered the stolen alcohol during the stop, and the store confirmed the merchandise was returned.

Surveillance Footage Played Key Role

The liquor store shared the surveillance clip to help show what happened. The video clearly shows the suspect taking the items and leaving the store. Employees said they hope the video will remind people that thefts are taken seriously and that cameras are monitored.

Horizon Warehouse Liquor Store expressed appreciation for the quick work of deputies. They also noted that shoplifting incidents impact local businesses and often lead to higher costs for both stores and customers.

Citations Issued, Case Remains Under Review

The suspects were not booked into jail but were cited at the scene. Authorities have not released additional details about the individuals or whether further charges are being considered.

Retail theft remains a common issue across Minnesota. More information about state theft laws can be found through the Minnesota Statutes.
