Cass County, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — A 41-year-old woman with no permanent address is facing multiple felony charges after a fire call at a West Fargo hotel led to a drug and firearm arrest early Friday morning.

According to a police spokesperson, West Fargo firefighters responded around 2 a.m. Friday, to a report of smoke at the Homewood Suites by Hilton, located at 805 E. Beaton Drive. Crews discovered the smoke was caused by burnt food, but further investigation revealed more serious concerns.

Police officers assisting at the scene reportedly saw drugs and drug paraphernalia in the hotel room. After obtaining a search warrant, officers recovered suspected narcotics and a firearm.

The suspect, identified as Kierra Fogarty, was taken into custody and booked into the Cass County Jail. She is now facing two felony charges — possession of drugs with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen gun.

Authorities also noted Fogarty had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear. No injuries were reported in connection with the fire, and the hotel sustained only minor smoke damage.

The case remains under investigation by the West Fargo Police Department and Cass County Narcotics Task Force.
