Fargo Woman Charged in Unusual Bathroom Trespass
FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo woman is facing a felony charge after allegedly entering a home without permission to use the bathroom.
According to court documents, Shemaiah P. Small of Fargo is charged with felony criminal trespass following a late-night incident that occurred on October 18th.
Police say that just before 10 p.m., a couple staying at a Fargo residence reported that a woman entered their home without permission. The woman allegedly walked in, used the bathroom, apologized, and then left. The incident was captured on a Ring doorbell camera.
Officers responding to the report located Small nearby. After reviewing the video footage and statements from the couple, she was taken into custody. Authorities say the situation did not involve any theft or assault, but the unauthorized entry still qualified as criminal trespass under North Dakota law.
Police say the case serves as a reminder for residents to keep their doors locked, even during evening hours, and to use home security tools such as Ring doorbell systems or motion-activated lighting for safety.
Small was booked and later released pending her first court appearance. The Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.
