Arrest Made After Minneapolis Ice Cream Shop Firebombed Twice
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — An arrest has been made after a Minneapolis ice cream shop was firebombed twice in less than 15 hours. According to police, Fletcher’s Ice Cream and Café was attacked twice, once late Sunday night and again on Monday afternoon, causing property damage but no injuries.
The first incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, when someone threw a firebomb at the shop, located in Minneapolis. Less than a day later, around 1:00 p.m. Monday, another incendiary device was thrown at the same business, sparking a second fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished both incidents.
Minneapolis police say the same suspect is believed to be responsible for both attacks. That person is now in custody as investigators continue to determine a possible motive. The case is being reviewed for potential state and federal charges.
Shop owner Jason Fletcher told local media he believes the attacks may be connected to a Pride flag displayed on the building. Fletcher said the business community and residents have rallied around the shop, offering support and cleanup assistance.
Despite the damage, Fletcher’s Ice Cream and Café plans to reopen on Tuesday. Police have increased patrols in the area to ensure public safety while the investigation continues.
