Tioga Woman Killed in Wells County Head-On Crash

Wells County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Tioga woman was killed and a Minot man injured following a head-on crash Wednesday night southeast of Harvey, North Dakota.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:26 p.m. on October 15 near mile marker 177.5 on Highway 52, about nine miles southeast of Harvey. Road conditions were wet with light mist at the time.

Investigators said a 2007 Kenworth truck, driven by 73-year-old Dale Anderson of Minot, was traveling southeast on Highway 52. At the same time, a 2015 Nissan Rogue, driven by 45-year-old Jennifer Hopler of Tioga, was heading northwest.

According to authorities, the Nissan crossed the centerline and struck the Kenworth head-on. Hopler died at the scene from her injuries. Anderson sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey for treatment.

Emergency crews from the Harvey Police Department, Harvey and Fessenden Fire Departments, Fessenden Ambulance, Wells County Sheriff’s Office, and Harvey Ambulance Service responded to the crash.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision. No charges have been filed at this time.
