Minot Man Killed in Ward County Motorcycle Crash

Ward County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened Wednesday evening in southwest Minot.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:24 p.m. on October 15 at the intersection of 37th Avenue Southwest and 10th Street Southwest. Conditions at the time were reported as dry with light mist.

Investigators say a 2024 Suzuki GSX 1300, driven by 42-year-old Ryan Chennault of Minot, was traveling westbound on 37th Avenue Southwest at a high rate of speed. A 2015 Dodge Durango, driven by a juvenile from Minot, was stopped at a stop sign on 10th Street Southwest before entering the intersection to head east.

The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the Durango in a T-bone collision. Both vehicles came to rest in the intersection. Emergency responders from the Minot Police Department, Minot Fire Department, and Trinity Health First Response arrived at the scene.

Both drivers were transported to Trinity Health in Minot. Chennault later died from his injuries. The juvenile driver sustained serious injuries but survived.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Authorities have not announced any charges at this time.

The NDHP is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact them at (701) 328-2447.
