Pennington County Car Hits Skateboarder Near Apartments

THIEF RIVER FALLS (trfnews.i234.me) — A woman was injured after being hit by a car outside the Sungarden Apartments in Thief River Falls. The accident happened around 3:20 p.m. on September 10, according to a report released by local police.

Authorities say Jason Johnson of Thief River Falls was driving a Chrysler 300 southbound near 1512 Highway 1 East. Johnson was rounding a corner to park behind the apartments when his car struck 29-year-old skateboarder Denae Williams.

Williams was hurt in the crash, but the police report did not say whether she received medical treatment. Details about her condition were not available at the time of the release.

The Thief River Falls Police Department shared the report with local media on October 10. No citations or charges were mentioned in the information provided.

Residents in the area are reminded to be cautious in shared spaces where both drivers and pedestrians are active. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration provides guidance on preventing pedestrian and skateboarder injuries in parking and residential areas.
