Pembina County: Woman Pleads Not Guilty After Wild Arrest
WALHALLA, NORTH DAKOTA (trfnews.i234.me) — A Winnipeg woman has pleaded not guilty to several misdemeanor charges following an unusual arrest near Walhalla, North Dakota. The incident occurred early Friday morning, when authorities found the woman in a field around 12:39 a.m.
According to court documents, Genevieve Monsebroten of Winnipeg faces multiple misdemeanor charges, including fleeing a peace officer in a vehicle, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, DUI (first offense), and criminal mischief. Monsebroten appeared in court on Tuesday and entered not guilty pleas to all counts.
The case is expected to proceed to trial after the first of the year. While the charges stem from an unusual series of events, all have been filed as misdemeanors. The Pembina County State’s Attorney has not yet commented on why none of the charges were elevated to the felony level.
Officials say the full criminal complaint has not yet been filed, as prosecutors are waiting for additional reports and video evidence from the Pembina County Sheriff’s Office. Further details about the arrest, including what led to the incident, have not been released.
The case remains open, and TRF News will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available. For more details on North Dakota criminal court procedures, visit the North Dakota Courts website.
