Cass County: One Person and Dog Injured in South Fargo Fire

Fargo, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) — A Saturday night fire in South Fargo left one person and a dog injured after flames tore through a twin home, displacing multiple residents.

According to Fargo Fire Department Battalion Chief, the blaze was reported at approximately 10:02 p.m. on October 11, 2025, at 5110 48th Avenue South. Fire crews arrived to find heavy flames engulfing the west unit of the twin home, with fire rapidly spreading from the ground floor to the roof, intensified by strong winds.

The adjacent unit at 5108 48th Avenue South also caught fire, prompting a second alarm due to the fast-moving flames and thick smoke conditions. All residents were safely outside when firefighters arrived on the scene.

Fire crews worked quickly to contain the fire, bringing it under control by 10:37 p.m.. The west unit sustained extensive fire damage, while the adjoining unit suffered significant smoke and fire damage, contained to the second floor. A neighboring home also received heat-related exterior damage.

One person was transported to a local medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries. Firefighters also rescued a dog from the structure and transported it to a local veterinary clinic for evaluation.

Residents of both affected units have been displaced due to severe fire and smoke damage. The total damage estimate is not yet available, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fargo Fire Department.
