CLAY COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Moorhead man is facing a felony burglary charge following two alleged break-ins at a local THC dispensary early Saturday morning.
According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement responded to a THC dispensary in Moorhead around 3:47 a.m. on October 4 after an alarm was triggered. When officers arrived, they found the front door open.
Video surveillance reportedly showed a man checking the store’s front door around 11:30 p.m. the previous evening. The same man was then seen returning at 3:43 a.m. and entering the building. The suspect was later identified as Charles Edward Gorgol of Moorhead.
At the time of the first call, a store representative told authorities it didn’t appear anything was missing. However, a few hours later, at 5:27 a.m., officers were again dispatched to the same business after reports that Gorgol had returned.
Police say they found Gorgol inside the store. He was allegedly in possession of several sets of keys belonging to the property owners. Officers also reported finding a wallet in his backpack that contained another person’s identification and credit cards.
Gorgol was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, a felony under Minnesota law. If convicted, he could face substantial fines and imprisonment.
This case highlights continued law enforcement focus on business burglaries in the Moorhead area. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity immediately. For more on Minnesota criminal laws, visit Minnesota Statutes §609.582.
