Pennington County (trfnews.i234.me): Man Cited After Disturbance at TRF Apartment
A Canby, Minnesota, man has been cited for disorderly conduct after police responded twice in one night to a disturbance at a Thief River Falls apartment.
According to the Thief River Falls Police Department, officers were called to 502 Davis Avenue, Apartment D, at about 2:26 a.m. on September 30 for a report of loud noise and a disturbance.
The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Jason William Abney of Canby, was cited after police determined that he had been drinking alcohol in violation of his probation conditions.
Officers had already responded to the same apartment earlier that night for a noise complaint.
When they arrived the second time, they reported hearing loud music coming from inside the unit.
Abney agreed to take a preliminary breath test, which showed a blood alcohol content of 0.227.
After the test, he allegedly began yelling slurs and profanities at officers before shutting his window and closing his blinds.
Police cited Abney for disorderly conduct and documented the probation violation.
No arrests were made at the scene, and no injuries were reported.
Authorities remind residents that excessive noise and public disturbances can lead to fines and additional legal action, especially when alcohol or probation violations are involved.
