Norman County (trfnews.i234.me): Hendrum Man Charged with Robbery, Assault in Halstad
A Hendrum, Minnesota, man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly assaulting a family member and taking their belongings during a violent altercation in Halstad on October 3.
According to the Norman County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to a residence in Halstad following a report that Jordan Richard Kjos had physically assaulted a family member.
The victim told police that Kjos allegedly pushed them down, took their car keys and cash, and then grabbed their phone while they were trying to call 911.
The complaint states that Kjos later consumed more alcohol and passed out before law enforcement arrived.
Kjos was taken into custody and is now charged with three felonies — simple robbery, domestic assault, and witness tampering — along with a gross misdemeanor charge of interfering with a 911 call.
Authorities confirmed that the victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The case remains under investigation by the Norman County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
If convicted, Kjos faces possible prison time and fines under Minnesota’s felony robbery and assault statutes.
Court records indicate he remains in custody pending an initial court appearance.
