Pennington Co. Man Cited for Theft of Services

THIEF RIVER FALLS, PENNINGTON COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Thief River Falls man has been cited after allegedly stealing electricity from a neighbor’s residence.

According to police, officers responded at 3:21 p.m. on September 11 to a report of theft of services. Investigators say Arnoldo Martinez, 57, connected a power cord to a neighboring home to use their electricity without permission.

Martinez was cited for theft of services. Police did not report any further disputes at the property.

Authorities remind residents that unauthorized use of utilities is a misdemeanor offense under Minnesota law. Theft of services can include electricity, gas, or other utilities taken without consent.

The case will be reviewed in Pennington County District Court. No additional details have been released.
