Marshall Co. Man Charged with Theft, Meth Possession
ARGYLE, MARSHALL COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A 67-year-old Argyle man has been charged with multiple felonies after authorities say he stole tools and was later found in possession of methamphetamine.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the case began on Wednesday, September 17, when a resident reported that tools had been stolen from his camper. The camper, which was parked in an alley, had been hooked up and towed away. Deputies followed gouge marks from the camper’s path, which led directly to the residence of Ronald Lee Erickson.
When a deputy and the camper’s owner arrived, they saw the missing tools inside a vehicle parked at Erickson’s residence. The items were visible through the vehicle’s window. A search warrant was later obtained for the property.
During the search, deputies recovered all of the stolen tools. They also discovered approximately 45 grams of methamphetamine inside Erickson’s home.
Erickson has been charged in Marshall County District Court with felony theft and second-degree controlled substance crime. He remains in custody at the Pennington County Jail on behalf of Marshall County.
The case is under review, and no additional details have been released. Authorities say the recovery of the tools helped close the theft case quickly, while the drug discovery added to the severity of charges.
