Cavalier County (trfnews.i234.me) – TRF News has an update on a crash earlier this month in Hamilton, North Dakota. Charges have now been filed against the driver accused of causing a rollover during an apparent road rage incident.

According to the criminal complaint, Doug E. Carnahan of Bisbee was driving in the passing lane on Highway 5 beside a truck driven by B.D. Carnahan. Court records say Doug Carnahan swerved his vehicle toward the other truck, forcing it off the road. The second truck rolled onto its side in the ditch.

The victim, B.D. Carnahan suffered a cut on his head along with bruising on his shoulder and leg. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Doug Carnahan has now been charged with two Class A misdemeanors: reckless endangerment and aggravated reckless driving. Each Class A misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $3,000 fine under North Dakota law.

The case will proceed in Cavalier County District Court. Officials remind drivers that aggressive driving behaviors can quickly escalate into dangerous and criminal situations on the road.
