Hennepin County (trfnews.i234.me) – TRF News has learned that police are investigating reports of gunfire on the University of Minnesota East Bank campus in Minneapolis. The incident happened Thursday night near Rapson Hall.
According to a U of M police alert, a supervisor reported hearing gunshots while an event with about 300 people was taking place inside the building. Officers quickly responded to the scene.
Investigators did not find any shooting victims. They searched the area thoroughly and cleared the scene about two hours later. Authorities said any possible suspect had already left the area before police arrived.
University officials are urging students, staff, and visitors to remain alert and to report suspicious activity immediately. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
