Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) – TRF News has learned of an accident involving a child on a bicycle in Moorhead on Wednesday afternoon. Police say the crash happened at 4:54 p.m. on the 4100 block of 14th Street South.

According to investigators, a 7-year-old child entered a crosswalk on a bicycle and collided with a truck. The child was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Emergency responders transported the child by Sanford Ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The current condition of the juvenile is unknown.

The driver of the pickup, identified as Pamela Wol of Moorhead, was cited for failure to yield at a crosswalk and released from the scene. No further criminal charges have been reported.

Moorhead Police remind drivers to slow down and remain alert, especially in residential areas where children may be present. Officers also emphasize the importance of wearing helmets and using extra caution in crosswalks to prevent serious injuries.
