Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) – TRF News has learned that a Moorhead man is facing several charges in Fargo. Logan Ray Arends of Moorhead is now charged with felony terrorizing and misdemeanors of leaving the scene of an accident and refusal to halt.
According to court documents, the incident happened on September 17 at 3:05 a.m. Officers responded to a call about a crash and later to a report of threats involving a weapon. A victim reported that a pickup had backed into a parked car, causing it to move several feet. The driver, later identified as Arends, then entered an apartment building.
The victim later encountered Arends in an alley. The victim reported that Arends was holding a kitchen knife about eight inches long. He allegedly made aggressive movements while saying phrases such as “What’s up? Run at me.” The victim said he feared for his safety and returned to the apartment.
When officers arrived, they spotted Arends outside again. As they approached, he ran back into the building. Officers ordered him to stop, but he entered an apartment and locked the door. He refused to come out even after being told he was under arrest. Following negotiations, Arends eventually exited the apartment and was arrested without further incident.
He now faces felony and misdemeanor charges. The case will proceed in Cass County District Court. For more details on similar cases, visit the North Dakota Courts Public Access site.
