Stutsman County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Jamestown woman is now facing criminal charges following an incident at a residence on September 13. According to court documents, officers were dispatched after a male resident reported that his estranged wife was attempting to force her way into his home.
The resident told police he believed Carlie Ann Schroeder had tried to move an air conditioner to gain entry, since the front door was locked. When officers arrived, they found Schroeder inside the residence. She was arrested on the scene.
Police reported that Schroeder appeared heavily intoxicated and was sweating profusely during the arrest. When questioned, Schroeder allegedly claimed that she had been invited over by text message to reconcile with her estranged husband. However, investigators later reported that no such messages were found on either party’s phone.
Schroeder has now been charged with felony criminal trespass and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. She is expected to appear in Stutsman County District Court as the case proceeds. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Authorities continue to emphasize the seriousness of trespass-related offenses, particularly when they involve entry into a private residence. Felony trespass charges in North Dakota can carry significant penalties, including possible prison time.
