Cass County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Fargo man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly pointing a firearm at two people and being found in possession of drugs.

According to court documents, on September 8, Fargo Police were dispatched to a disturbance involving a firearm. Two victims reported that Samuel Russell Lafountain Jr. pointed a gun at them during a verbal confrontation, placing them in fear for their lives.

Officers say Lafountain ignored commands and attempted to flee on foot before being detained. At the time of his arrest, police recovered a 9-millimeter Ruger handgun, along with suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.

Lafountain is now charged with four felonies, including terrorizing, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of both methamphetamine and cocaine. Each charge carries the potential for significant prison time if convicted.

Court records also show that Lafountain already had active warrants in Cass County for terrorizing with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. Those prior warrants added to the severity of his current case.

Authorities have not released additional information about the victims or whether more charges could be filed. Lafountain remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
