According to court records, Zacharty Oslund was driving along I-94 when an officer noticed the vehicle traveling in the ditch and through the grass. Oslund’s passenger was identified as Anthony Guerrero. When stopped, both men appeared nervous and hesitant in answering questions.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a brick of cocaine weighing approximately 2.4 pounds. Authorities estimated the street value of the drugs at over $100,000.
Both Oslund and Guerrero have been charged with first-degree sale of cocaine, the second such charge filed within 90 days. They are also facing charges of first-degree possession of 50 grams or more of cocaine.
Under Minnesota law, each of these charges carries a maximum penalty of up to 40 years in prison. Prosecutors note that the significant quantity of cocaine seized represents one of the largest drug cases in the county this year.
Authorities have not released further details on whether additional suspects may be involved. Both defendants are expected to appear in Otter Tail County District Court.
