Cass County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Kentucky woman is now facing a felony drug trafficking charge after police say she was found with methamphetamine in West Fargo.

According to court documents, the case began on Saturday, September 7, when an officer was dispatched to the Menards store in West Fargo for a reported shoplifting incident. While investigating, the officer made contact with 37-year-old Amanda Jo Brewer of Clay County, Kentucky.

Authorities say Brewer was allegedly found in possession of three separate baggies containing a total of 46 grams of suspected methamphetamine. She was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with felony possession with intent to deliver meth.

Officials did not confirm whether Brewer faced additional charges connected to the alleged shoplifting case. The suspected methamphetamine was seized as evidence and will undergo testing at the state crime laboratory.

Felony drug trafficking charges in North Dakota carry serious penalties, including possible prison time and large fines. The severity often depends on the amount of the drug and the defendant’s criminal history. More information about controlled substance laws can be found in the North Dakota Century Code.

Brewer is expected to make her first court appearance in Cass County District Court. She remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. No further details were released regarding the bond or upcoming hearings.

Authorities continue to stress that methamphetamine distribution remains a major concern in the Red River Valley, with law enforcement agencies working to disrupt trafficking networks and reduce local drug availability.
