Officers responded at about 5:30 a.m. Friday to the 700 block of College Street in North Fargo. The call came in as an aggravated assault.
Police found a male victim with serious injuries. He was receiving treatment as of the initial update. Authorities did not release his name.
Investigators identified Lena Deoliveira as the suspect in the case. Police say Deoliveira was located across the river in Moorhead.
Officers arrested Deoliveira in Moorhead without further incident, according to the update. She is being held in Minnesota pending extradition back to Fargo.
Formal charging information has not yet been released. Police did not provide a possible motive or the type of weapon involved.
Detectives will review body camera video and nearby security footage. They will also pull call logs and digital records tied to the scene.
Extradition from Minnesota to North Dakota typically involves a court hearing. A Minnesota judge confirms the identity of the wanted person. The process then authorizes the transfer of the North Dakota warrant.
Authorities did not release a timeline for Deoliveira’s transfer. Officials also did not release booking details or expected initial court dates.
Neighbors in the College Street area may see added patrols during follow-up work. Police asked anyone with doorbell video or witness information to reach out.
