Burleigh County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – Authorities are investigating an injury crash on Interstate 94 in Burleigh County that left three people hurt, including a member of the Mayville State University Golf Team.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Friday, August 29, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m. near mile marker 186. Conditions at the time were reported as good.
Investigators say a 2021 Chevrolet Express Van was traveling eastbound in the left lane, preparing to pass a 2017 Ford F150 in the right lane. The Ford’s driver, a 95-year-old man from Linton, attempted to use a median crossover to turn around. The Ford entered the van’s path and was struck on the driver’s side.
The van’s driver, a 54-year-old woman from Mayville, was injured. A passenger in the van, one of six student athletes ages 19 to 25, was also hurt. All were transported to CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck for treatment. Both drivers suffered injuries but were reported to be wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The other passengers in the van were not injured. All occupants were members of the Mayville State University Golf Team. Their identities have not been released.
Eastbound I-94 traffic was reduced to one lane for about an hour while crews investigated and cleared the crash site. Agencies assisting included the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office, Sterling Rural Fire, and Metro Area Ambulance.
