Cass County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A West Fargo woman is facing serious drug and child endangerment charges after a late-night traffic stop led to a narcotics seizure.
According to West Fargo Police, the stop occurred just before midnight on August 28 in the 800 block of 17th Avenue East. Officers initially pulled over the vehicle for inoperable license plate lights and stopping past the stop line.
During the stop, officers developed reasonable suspicion to conduct a K9 sniff of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics, giving police probable cause to search.
Inside the vehicle, officers found nearly 20 grams of methamphetamine, seven grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, and about a half-pound of marijuana. Police also seized drug paraphernalia and secured the driver’s phone as evidence.
The driver, identified as Amanda Wagemann, was arrested at the scene. Three other passengers were inside the vehicle during the stop. Authorities say Wagemann faces felony charges of possession with intent to sell narcotics as well as child endangerment.
She was transported to the Cass County Jail following her arrest. The case remains under investigation. Learn more about North Dakota narcotics enforcement here.
