Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) – The preliminary hearing for a Fargo woman accused of attempted murder has been delayed until October 1.
According to Cass County District Court records, Jessica McCroskey was expected to enter a plea on felony charges this week, but instead applied for a public defender. Court documents confirm that a public defender has since been assigned to represent her.
McCroskey, 32, is facing felony attempted murder charges following an incident reported on Saturday, July 12. Police say the case began around 9:50 a.m. in the 1300 block of 3rd Avenue North in Fargo.
The victim told police he noticed McCroskey looking into the windows of his business. When he asked what she was doing, McCroskey allegedly claimed he did not own the property. She then reportedly pulled out a knife and attacked him.
During the struggle, the victim reported being stabbed in the neck and suffering cuts to his hand while trying to disarm her. He was able to get the knife away and call for help.
McCroskey was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder. She remains held while awaiting her next court date.
Her preliminary hearing is now scheduled for 9 a.m. on October 1 in Cass County District Court.
