Norman County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Gary, Minnesota man is facing a serious felony charge in Norman County Court.

According to court records, Kevin Jon Yungen has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The charge stems from allegations made by a child victim.

Investigators say the victim reported that the incident happened when they were just 11 years old. The victim told authorities that during the assault, they tried to hide their face under a blanket.

Court filings indicate that Yungen is now facing prosecution under Minnesota’s most serious sexual conduct statute. A conviction on a first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge can carry a lengthy prison sentence.

The case highlights the process of child abuse investigations in rural Minnesota counties, where law enforcement and county attorneys work closely to bring charges when credible reports are made. Officials say these cases are handled with care to protect the identity and privacy of child victims.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional hearings will be scheduled through Norman County District Court. Further details may be released as the case progresses.
