Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – Authorities are investigating a drowning incident that occurred on Cass Lake, Minnesota, on Saturday evening.
According to emergency radio traffic, the call came in around 5:30 p.m. The reported location was south of Star Island, a popular boating and fishing spot in Cass County.
Witnesses said an adult male was in a boat with children when the situation unfolded. The children were safely removed from the vessel, but the man remained missing. Reports indicate that the boat later drifted away from the scene.
Emergency responders, including marine units, were dispatched to the area. Dive teams were also requested to assist in the search. Recovery equipment was prepared as crews worked to locate the victim.
Radio transmissions captured during the response confirmed that rescue and recovery operations were underway for several hours. Conditions on the lake, including wind and waves, may have complicated search efforts.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the victim’s identity. Officials say the individual was an adult male. No further details regarding the cause of the incident have been confirmed.
