CASS LAKE (trfnews.i234.me) https://trfnews.i234.me ā A Cass Lake woman is facing multiple charges, including felony drug possession, after allegedly fleeing police and providing a false identity during an investigation in Cass County.
According to court documents, Gerri Michelle Larose, 35, has been charged with fifth-degree controlled substance possession, giving a false name to police, and fleeing a peace officer on foot following an incident on July 28, 2025.
Leech Lake Tribal Police were dispatched to a disturbance report near the IHS Hospital in Cass Lake. During the response, officers encountered Larose, who allegedly ran from them and later provided a false name before being identified. A search reportedly revealed a small amount of fentanyl in her possession.
Larose has prior controlled substance convictions in both Cass and Beltrami counties earlier this year, according to court records.
The felony drug charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. The misdemeanor charges each carry penalties of up to 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
