Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) – The Minnesota State Patrol has released new details on Thursday’s fatal crash in Moorhead that claimed the life of a child.
Authorities say the incident occurred at 11:44 a.m. at the intersection of 40th Avenue South and 14th Street. According to the report, a northbound Mack truck — confirmed by the city to be a public works vehicle — struck a juvenile who was in the crosswalk.
The victim has been identified as a 9-year-old boy from Moorhead. His name has not been released. The driver of the truck is identified as 64-year-old Victor Carl Port of West Fargo. Investigators say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate.
